At H.Essers, family values are very important. Not only in how we treat our customers, but also in how we treat each other. For some colleagues, this takes on a very literal meaning. For example, brothers Harun and Muhammet have been working together at the company for years. They explain how their strong bond translates to the workplace, and what makes H.Essers so special to them as a family business.

How long have you been working at H.Essers, and what do you do exactly?

Harun: “I’ve been working at H.Essers for 9 years now. I started as a Transport Officer and have since grown into the position of Transport Administration Coordinator.”

Muhammet: “I’ve been working at H.Essers for about 7 to 8 years now and have been a Transport Officer the entire time.”

Why did you choose H.Essers?

Harun: “I studied Logistics, and in Belgium H.Essers is one of the largest and most experienced transport companies. After applying, I was given the opportunity to start here and further develop myself. It’s also my first job.”

Muhammet: “Thanks to my brother, I learned a lot about the company, and my interest grew. H.Essers is a rapidly growing company, which motivated me even more to start here.”

Do you have a good relationship? How can you tell?

Harun: “We have a strong bond. We also run our own business together, which only strengthens our mutual trust. We bring that trust with us to the workplace.”

Muhammet: “We are indeed two peas in a pod and spend a lot of time together thanks to our car dealership business. We know each other inside and out and trust each other completely.”

Is it nice to work in the same company with your brother?

Harun: “Of course it’s nice to work with someone you know well. Although we do keep things professional at work. On the job, I always say: we’re colleagues here.”

Muhammet: “It’s definitely nice to work together. We both do our jobs with conviction, which is why we value professionalism on the job. It’s a sign of respect towards our other colleagues.”

What’s the best moment you’ve shared here?

Harun: “By working together and supporting each other, I’ve also experienced significant personal and professional growth at H.Essers. There’s nothing better than family that brings out the best in each other.”

Muhammet: “Supporting each other is what we love most and it makes our collaboration strong.”

How do you notice that H.Essers is a true family business with family values?

Harun: “H.Essers shows a lot of respect for its employees and also gives them opportunities to grow. There has always been understanding and open communication with our managers, especially regarding vacation periods that we take together. To me, that really demonstrates the company’s family-oriented approach.”

Muhammet: “That’s right, we really appreciate that they handle this flexibly and positively. It’s a great example of giving and receiving respect.”
