The Project Management Office (PMO) is part of the IT organisation, where around 150 staff members contribute daily to H.Essers’ technological and digital future. As a Senior IT Project Manager, you will be part of an enthusiastic and driven team of Project Managers who define the priorities across the various internal and external IT projects within the entire portfolio. You will ensure a structured approach and be involved in every phase of the project. To this end, you will be in close contact with the business and with your IT colleagues, such as business analysts and developers. With a hands-on approach, you will visit sites where necessary to ensure the smooth delivery of projects and to support operations. You will also act as the point of contact for the client.

What exactly will you be doing?

  • Based on the needs of your own business or the client, you will draw up a project plan together with the project team and ensure that it is aligned with the stakeholders. YOU will take the lead on this!
  • You’ll closely monitor the project’s progress in terms of timing, scope and budget.
  • On complex projects, you’ll make a difference by taking a helicopter view, whilst remaining mindful of the nuances. Where necessary, you’ll support the team on site and make adjustments ‘on the spot’ as required.
  • What if the project schedule deviates? Through proactive coordination with your fellow project managers, you allocate the available resources to avoid bottlenecks.
  • You also report and communicate the project status to internal parties and clients on an ongoing basis.
  • Stakeholder management and managing the expectations of both internal and external stakeholders are your focus.
  • You are therefore not afraid to critically review the progress of each project, with the aim of constantly fine-tuning our long-term project planning methodology (lessons learnt).
  • Drawing up short- and long-term resource planning and forecasting for IT staff.

YOUR TALENTS

  • You have a strong track record in project management for software solutions and have considerable experience in this field, meaning you know the ins and outs of coordinating complex technological projects.
  • Moreover, you are calm and mature, and you know better than anyone how to help your colleagues reach their full potential.
  • You are a pragmatist with analytical insight, and thanks to your experience, you are able to take a critical view of things.
  • By setting the right priorities, you not only manage to juggle your projects but, together with your fellow project managers, you also draw up an excellent global plan.
  • Driven and hands-on, you’re a real ‘go-getter’ who takes the lead when necessary without losing sight of the overall objectives, and you’re fully committed to ongoing communication with internal and external clients and your IT colleagues.
  • You’re a good judge of character and have plenty of experience in stakeholder and change management.
  • You can communicate fluently and clearly, both verbally and in writing, at various levels, in both Dutch and English.
