YOUR CHALLENGES

The Project Management Office (PMO) department is part of the IT organization, where around 150 employees contribute to the technological and digital future of H.Essers on a daily basis. The organization has a clear strategic focus and is experiencing strong growth with various branches at home and abroad. To support this, the IT landscape must constantly evolve with new in-house developed systems. Our state-of-the-art Warehouse Management System, as well as our cloud-based customer portal and synchromodal planning tools (Transport Management System) are some good examples of this. The PMO department formulates and monitors the priorities that are in line with the strategic interests of the company. In this way, the growth of H.Essers is guaranteed and supported from an IT point of view. Stakeholder management and managing the expectations of both internal and external stakeholders are among your responsibilities as Senior Manager PMO. Together with your 8 direct reports, you will report and advise in a consistent and standardized manner with the aim of supporting decisions. In short, the aim is to achieve continuous improvement and compliance across the various IT teams.

In concrete terms, this means:

  • Project & portfolio management: helicopter view of projects and alignment with the necessary stakeholders at Business Unit and C-level
  • Structural alignment with the business regarding priorities and key decisions of the IT roadmap across the IT teams
  • Final responsibility for long- and short-term IT resource planning
  • Managing and coaching the IT PMO team, consisting of a strong team of Project Managers
  • Setting up and maintaining governance with regard to validation & IT security, as well as supervising internal and external audits (GDP, SOC1, ISO27001, ISO9001)
  • Promoting cohesion and collaboration between the various IT teams and their management
  • Final responsibility for the allocation of IT expenses to external end customers

  • You have extensive experience in IT project management and have already earned your stripes in leading and coaching a team.
