The Project Management Office (PMO) department is part of the IT organisation where around 140 employees contribute daily to H.Essers’ technological and digital future. The organisation has a clear strategic focus and is experiencing strong growth with several branches at home and abroad. To support this, the IT landscape must constantly evolve along with new in-house developed systems. Our state-of-the-art Warehouse Management System but also our cloud-based customer portal and synchromodal planning tools (Transport Management System) are some fine examples. The PMO department formulates and monitors priorities in line with the company’s strategic interests. In this way, H.Essers’ growth is guaranteed and supported from an IT point of view. Stakeholder management and managing the expectations of both internal and external stakeholders are among your responsibilities as Senior Manager PMO. You will, together with your 7 direct reports, report and advise in a consistent and standardised manner with the aim of supporting decisions. In summary, continuous improvement and compliance is pursued across IT teams.
We translate this into:
- Project & portfolio management: helicopter view of projects and alignment with necessary stakeholders at Business Unit and C-level
- Structural alignment with business regarding priorities and key decisions of the IT roadmap across IT teams
- Final responsibility with regard to long & short-term IT resource planning
- Managing and coaching the IT PMO team consisting of a strong team of Project Managers
- Establish and maintain governance related to validation & IT security, as well as supervise internal and external audits (GDP, SOC1, ISO27001, ISO9001)
- Promote cohesion and cooperation between the various IT teams and their management
- Final responsibility in passing on IT costs to external end customers
