We are looking for a System Platform Engineer who understands that innovation should never come at the expense of reliability. In everything you do – whether it’s automating deployments or setting up servers – security and stability come first. You will build an environment that is not only fast, but also secure and rock solid.
What do you do specifically?

  • Hybrid platform management: You manage the entire chain. This means you work hands-on in our on-premise environment but can just as easily switch to Azure.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Where possible, you automate. You use Ansible and Terraform to configure servers, roll out middleware and ensure consistency.
  • Kubernetes & Containerisation: You are the driving force behind our container platforms. You manage clusters via Rancher RKE2 (on-prem) and Azure AKS and ensure that these environments remain production-ready.
  • Middleware Management: You install and maintain critical components such as Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and Nexus Registry. You ensure that these services continue to run efficiently and securely.
  • CI/CD & GitOps: You support developers by streamlining deployments. You work with Jenkins pipelines and modernise towards GitOps with FluxCD.
  • Monitoring & observability: You keep your finger on the pulse. You set up monitoring via Datadog and the ELK stack, interpret the alerts and intervene (or automate the solution) before users experience any impact.
  • Security & stability First: You are the guardian of our environment. With every change or new implementation, you ask yourself: ‘Is this secure? Is this stable?’ You ensure a secure-by-design setup of both on-premise and cloud components.
  • System maintenance: In addition to projects and automation, you also take care of day-to-day ‘run’ management. This includes patching, server upgrades and troubleshooting OS-related issues.
  • Deep-dive troubleshooting: Is an application not working? You analyse the entire chain: from firewall rules to OS logs and application traces.

YOUR TALENTS

  • You have at least 5 years of experience in a System Engineering role and have evolved towards DevOps (or vice versa). You are ready for a technical position with a lot of variety.
  • You have a clear DevOps vision, but you understand that operational system management sometimes takes priority. You also take ownership, have strong analytical skills, and prioritise stability and security.
  • OS expert: you have in-depth knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu) and feel comfortable in Windows Server environments.
  • Core infrastructure knowledge: you have a rock-solid knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SSL/TLS and Certificates (PKI). Authentication protocols such as LDAP, Kerberos or SAML hold no secrets for you.
  • Orchestration: you have proven experience with Kubernetes (Rancher / AKS).
  • Tooling: you are proficient in Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Git and FluxCD.
  • Middleware: you manage applications such as SonarQube, Nexus, Kafka and databases.
